Children's Dentistry
We Love to Treat Little Smiles
As dentists, nothing pleases us more than laying the foundation for a lifetime of good oral health. We love caring for our young patients and enjoy teaching them about their teeth, their overall dental health, and the importance of brushing, flossing, and regular exams.
Even though a child’s baby (primary) teeth are temporary, they still require care. And oral health means more than cavities; it is about chewing ability, bite alignment, speech development, and proper jawbone growth.
At Alexandra Park Dental, we take your child’s oral health seriously. Invest in your child’s oral health. Contact us today.

Dental Care We Provide for Children
Dental Exams
It is important to keep your child’s teeth and gums healthy with regular dental exams.
The Canadian Dental Association recommends your child undergo their first exam once they get their first tooth or by the age of one, whichever comes first. From there, regular exams should be coordinated every six months.
During our dental exam, we will examine your child’s mouth for signs of cavities and gum disease, which allows us to catch and address any potential problems early on. We will also assess bite alignment, growth plate, and jaw development to ensure your child’s entire mouth is maturing as it should. Depending on how long it’s been since your child’s last appointment, we may also take some x-rays.
Dental Cleanings
When most of us hear the term “dental hygiene,” we think of brushing and flossing. However, professional cleanings also play a key part in keeping your child’s gums and teeth happy and healthy.
Not only will we clean and professionally floss your child’s teeth, but we will also review proper at-home care techniques and teach them about the importance of brushing, flossing, and the importance of limiting sugary snacks.
Orthodontics
As they grow, some children require orthodontic correction for a misaligned jaw or uneven teeth. If that happens, we will be sure to discuss your child’s options with you. From traditional braces to Invisalign®, our dental professionals will help you find the right solution for your child.
