If your teeth aren’t as straight as you would like, but you don’t want the look or feel of traditional metal braces, Invisalign® may be the perfect teeth alignment system for you.
Invisalign® is an effective, discreet way to correct orthodontic issues such as overcrowding, a misaligned bite, or tooth gaps. To learn more about Invisalign®, book an appointment with our dentists today.
This innovative alternative to braces consists of clear, removable plastic aligners that are custom-designed to gently guide your teeth into the correct alignment.
You wear each set of aligners for approximately 2 weeks. Once your teeth have shifted, you’ll trade in your current aligner for a new one, which then shifts your teeth further. You continue to swap out aligners until you’ve achieved your teeth alignment goals.
Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign® does not rely on brackets or wires, so it’s a good choice for convenience and comfort. The clear plastic aligners are easy to wear, practically invisible, and simple to remove when you need to eat, brush, or floss your teeth.
After a thorough exam, we will determine if Invisalign® is a good option for you based on the severity of your correction.
If Invisalign® is deemed right for you, we will develop a customized treatment plan to suit your needs and meet your goals. First, we’ll build a 3D profile of your teeth based on x-ray images, photos, and impressions. From there, we will create a series of customized aligners to gently move your teeth into the correct position.
You will wear and change out aligners in 2-week increments for up to 12-18 months. The exact timeline depends on the extent of your correction and your individual treatment plan. However, treatment time is often comparable to traditional braces.
